Basics
Through your established
wagering account at Racelinebet.com, VoiceBetŪ may be used to place
bets on any race defined in the system. VoiceBetŪ is a new and
innovative automated system for accessing telephone wagering accounts.
The system allows account holders to use either voice commands from
any telephone, or key commands from any touch tone telephone to check
account balance, place bets, or review bets. With the aid of high
quality digital voice instruction, VoiceBetŪ will guide you through
the steps required to sign on to your account, place wagers, check for
winning bets, and obtain your account balance.
VoiceBetŪ protects the
privacy of your account by requiring you to provide your account
number and PIN at the beginning of each telephone call. Once your
account information is validated, the system states your account
balance and begins accepting wagers. Each wager you request is played
back to you for confirmation prior to being submitted to the wagering
system.
Messages spoken by
VoiceBetŪ are as brief as possible and may be interrupted at anytime
by experienced callers. The system provides extended prompts for
inexperienced callers who may need additional help navigating the
system. At any time during the telephone call, you may issue commands
to start over, review bets, or request operator assistance.
You can access the system by calling the telephone wagering number at
(800) 494-7223, then select option 2 for the VoiceBet feature.
Call
Flow
VoiceBetŪ begins each
telephone call with a welcome message, an audio icon, and a prompt for
an account number. You may either speak your account number as digits,
or use the keys on the touch tone keypad to submit the account number.
All touch tone key input is finished by touching the '#' key.
For example, account
number 712346 is submitted as:
|
Spoken |
Keys |
|
"seven,
one, two, three, four, six" |
712346# |
The account personal
identification number, PIN, is requested. The PIN may be spoken as
digits or keyed using the touch tone keypad. In public areas where
others may hear you speak, use the touch tone keypad to keep the PIN
private.
If the account PIN were
1234, it would be submitted as:
|
Spoken |
Keys |
|
"one,
two, three, four" |
1234# |
If the account number and
PIN match, the system will sign on to your account and play back the
current account balance followed by a prompt to provide a track and
race. At this point in the call flow you may choose whether to speak
your bets or key your bets using touch tone. In either mode, you may
interrupt the prompting with your selections.
The message is: "What's the track and race number, or say
main menu for more options.” The voice system at the heart
of the telephone wagering line has been upgraded to include
features such as current odds, results, and scratches
accessible through the main menu of the members area. Say
"Main Menu" to access these features.
For keyed bets, each part
of the bet is followed by the '#' key.
For spoken bets, the
track and race are collected, then the amount, bet type and runner(s).
Spoken bet details must be in that order. The speech recognizer does
not understand extra words like 'umm', uh', or phases like 'I mean'.
It fully recognizes track names, race numbers, amounts, bet types and
all runner combinations.
For example, the bet:
Beulah Park Race 1, $2 Win 1 is collected as:
|
Spoken |
Keys |
|
Prompt:
"Enter track and race" |
|
"Beulah
Park race one" |

|
Prompt:
"What's the bet" |
"How

|
"two

"What kind of wager are you

"What's the number of the

Prompt:

yes or no" |
"yes"
"no"
"repeat" |

#2 rejects the bet (you will be asked which part or parts are
incorrect)
#3 to hear the bet again |
|
Prompt:
"OK, I've placed the bet, the total bet cost is two
dollars and you have $xxxx left in your account" |
Notice that when the bet
is spoken, several bet parameters are collected together; track and
race, then amount, bet type, and runners. Touch tone bets are
collected one piece at a time. After confirming a bet, you may make
another one.
